Paul and I lined up the bills today. I remember the part in Great Expectations when Pip and his roomie took the time to line up the bills. They never could really do anything about them, but they always felt better after writing a list of all their debts.

I totally get that.

This time, however, Paul and I were able to see that we’re less behind than we feel. We made a plan to pay everyone and this is good. Our backs are a little straighter. We can look people in the eye now.

But …

we still want to travel the states and paint and write.

I guess we got to fit it in the budget …

now that we have one.

We’re looking at the summer now.

I hope that being completely sensible doesn’t kill all our sentiments for adventure. Safety and comfort is dangerous for dreams.
